Living with Disabilities
JCS is committed to helping people with disabilities grow, learn, work and participate fully in community life. We provide a wide array of support services for individuals with disabilities and their families.
JCS provides counseling, advocacy, and case management services to children, adults, and families of individuals with disabilities. Other services include assistance with independent living skills, tutoring, and locating and obtaining special equipment. JCS works with the Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) to obtain and fund resources and services.
Residential Programs for Adults
JCS residences enable adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible and participate fully in community life. Currently, JCS provides residential services in nine professionally-staffed homes – Alternative Living Units (ALUs) – in Northwest Baltimore City/Baltimore County communities. Each ALU is home to three adults with developmental disabilities.
Resources and Planning
JCS provides information and referral services to assist individuals and their families in accessing resources and equipment through DDA and other sources. We also provide in-home or office consultations for more intensive advocacy, support and future planning.
Additional services offered by JCS include vocational services, psychological testing, and scholarships.
