Dear Community Members,
Jewish Community Services is dedicated to the wellbeing of our clients, volunteers, staff and community. We have been continuously monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, which has included guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Maryland Department of Health, our partner healthcare organizations, and The Associated.
Serving our community is our top priority. We want to ensure that we do so in a safe and responsible way during the COVID-19 outbreak and therefore we are making some temporary modifications to the way we provide our services.
As of Tuesday, March 17, all JCS offices will temporarily close to the public; however, we want to emphasize that we will continue providing services to our clients and the community. The agency leadership has been developing comprehensive plans to maintain as much service continuity as possible under these extraordinary circumstances.
Though JCS service providers will not be seeing clients in face-to-face office appointments, they will begin working with their clients using alternative means of meeting, such as through telephone and video conferencing.
- JCS staff will be in contact with each of their clients to develop a plan for maintaining their individual service.
- Our Access Center call line, 410-466-9200, will remain live during regular business hours. Staff will be answering calls inquiring about services or seeking information and resources.
- We are providing virtual programming to address both the emotional and practical concerns of community members during this challenging time.
- We will continue to work closely with our partners in the Associated system and the Greater Baltimore Area to meet the needs of individuals and families throughout our community.
This is a difficult and stressful time for all. Jewish Community Services remains committed to providing all members of our community with the support and resources they need to overcome whatever challenges they may be facing.
In our community, we are all responsible for each other. Kol Yisrael areivim zeh b’zeh. From that unity comes the strength that will see us through.
Jonathan N. Davidov Joan Grayson Cohen, Esq., LCSW-C
