Preventing Risky Behaviors
The pressures facing young people today continue to mount, placing increasing numbers at risk and making them vulnerable to serious problems like substance use and abuse, risky sexual activity, self-injury, depression, eating disorders, and bullying.
JCS provides high quality, interactive educational programs that increase knowledge and awareness about substance use, abuse, addiction, the spread of HIV/AIDS, and other risky behaviors that can impact well-being.
Our programs provide information and experiences to help children, teens, and adults make healthy decisions for themselves and those important to them.
- Our age-appropriate, experiential education about heroin and other opioids fulfill the State’s “Start Talking, Maryland” mandate.
- Our HIV 101 programs, part of our Steven Kaufman AIDS Outreach Project, meet State guidelines for HIV/AIDS Prevention Education and Comprehensive Health Education.
- Our bullying prevention programs for pre-school through high school-aged kids have been featured in on-air and print media.
