Our new Baltimore County office at the JCC in Owings Mills will officially open on April 30!

After months of anticipation, the new Baltimore County office of JCS will open at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills Jewish Community Center on Monday, April 30. Construction began last summer on a two story addition to the JCC.  The new JCS offices will occupy one floor, accessible from the main level of the JCC.

According to Barbara L. Gradet, LCSW, Executive Director, JCS, “This new JCS facility provides an exciting opportunity to serve our Baltimore County community more fully. Our expanded space enables JCS to offer its complete array of human services in a convenient and comfortable location. Co-location will also allow JCS and JCC to expand our partnership in working together to enhance and promote the health and well-being of our entire community.”

“We see this partnership as a very positive one for our two agencies,” said Louis “Buddy” Sapolsky, JCC President.  According to Marc B. Terrill, President of THE ASSOCIATED, “JCS’ presence at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC is an essential component of our system’s strategic plan and the desire to have a strong service delivery arm in the county. This expansion is another example of the strength of public-private partnerships. Local governments, non-profit organizations and philanthropists are changing the facts on the ground and improving the lives of people who reside in the county.”

Funding for this expansion has come from both private donors and a state bond bill through the support of our 11th district delegation of Senator Bobby Zirkin and Delegates Dan Morhaim, Jon Cardin and Dana Stein.

JCS professionals will provide counseling for adults, children and families; career services; assistance for seniors and caregivers, and much more at the new Owings Mills offices.

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about the move:

Q: Is the whole JCS agency moving?
A: No.  Our offices in Baltimore City (5750 Park Heights Avenue) and in Howard County (10630 Little Patuxent Parkway) will continue to serve you as well.

Q: Will you keep the Owings Mills offices at 6 Park Center Court?
A: No.  The space at the Owings Mills JCC will become our new Baltimore County  location.
The new offices are almost double the space, allowing us to expand the services we provide in the area.

Q: Will you be part of the JCC?
A: While we will be co-located with the JCC, JCS will continue to be a separate agency just as we
have always been.

Q: Will I have to be a member of the JCC to get JCS services at the new location?
A: No. As always, JCS services are open to the community.  JCC membership is required to participate in most of the JCC’s programs and to use their facilities.

Q: Where will the entrance to JCS be at the new site?
A:
Once you enter the main lobby of the Owings Mills JCC, our offices will be located down the corridor to your left. In the main lobby, you will see a new information desk for JCS. This will be staffed by a specialist who can direct you to our offices, and provide information about JCS services as well as resources in the general Jewish community.

Q: If I am already a JCS client, will I be able to keep my same counselor?
A: Yes.  You can continue working with the same staff person you always have.

Q: Will you have different office hours?
A: We will be able to expand office hours at our new Owings Mills location. Hours will be:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday:  8:00 am – 9:00 pm
Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Friday:  8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Sunday:  9:00 am – 1:00 pm

This is an exciting opportunity that will allow us to better serve YOU and the entire community.
